Outside Pharmacy Policy

We are truly honored you chose Patriot Animal Hospital for your pet’s veterinary needs. We take the care of your beloved pet extremely seriously, and we strive to provide the highest standard of care at all times. In order to focus as much time as possible on providing that high standard of care, we have established workflows that maximize the time our doctors and support staff are providing care to your pet. One critical workflow is the digital integration of the online pharmacy request process through our partner MyVetStoreOnline.pharmacy. This digital integration saves our doctors and staff significant time and allows you, the pet owner, to receive prescriptions and over-the-counter medications directly to your home at extremely competitive prices. Requests from outside pharmacies such as Chewy, 1-800 Pet Meds, Pet Rx and others are not digitally integrated into our workflow and demand tremendous time from our doctors and support staff to process. Each request must be received, printed out, the pet’s medical profile reviewed, and the request physically signed by a veterinarian with instructions included and then scanned and emailed back to the requesting pharmacy and manually entered into your pet’s medical records. With over 1,000 patients and counting, if all our client submitted outside pharmacy requests for their pets, our doctors would spend multiple hours a day processing these requests, instead of focusing that valuable time providing personalized and exceptional care to their patient and as a result we would not survive as a business. In addition, requesting your pet’s prescriptions through our My Vet Store Online pharmacy has the following added benefits:

For all outside pharmacy requests for medications that are available in-clinic or through our online pharmacy, there will be a $25 charge applied to process the request.
